Michaël Zumstein has been a photojournalist for nearly 15 years. More accustomed to the African landscape than classrooms or bleachers, Michaël has decided to share his professional experience. Workshops, conferences, collaborations, he keeps in touch with his photography students, learned amateurs or even the general public.
In 2011, he is chosen among 10 leading figures in the world of photography to participate in the Training of the Trainers (ToT) program. This workshop, organised by Worldpress Photo, has allowed him to perfect his teaching technique. In 2013, Michaël took part as a trainer in The Reporting Change Program (Tunisia & Egypt) in order to document and exhibit local perspectives of the regional changes In 2007, the prestigious educational program at Worldpress Photo lands him in Tunisia, Morocco or Angola. In 2009, he takes part in the Twenty Ten project, aiming to polish the skills of African photographers selected to illustrate the Soccer World Cup in South Africa.
With a constant link to main players in photography, Michaël Zumstein has offered his contacts, shared his photojournalistic endeavours, all the while providing technical guidance directly drawn from his experience in the field. Michaël is dedicated to put his students into contact with newspapers, institutions, in order to concretely apply the information he provides in his workshops.
